Admission to Engineering Courses (B.Tech. / M.Tech.) – A.Y. 2026-27

Eligibility Q.1 What are the eligibility criteria for admission to Engineering Courses?
The eligibility criteria for admission to Engineering Courses for A.Y. 2026-27 will be as per the Information Brochure for Admission to Undergraduate and Post Graduate Technical Courses published by the State CET Cell, Maharashtra.

Admission Q.2 Does PICT conduct a separate Entrance examination for admissions?
No, there is no separate entrance examination conducted by PICT.
Management Quota Q.3 What is the Procedure for Admission to Engineering Courses under Institute Level (Management) Quota & After CAP (ACAP) vacancies?
1. The admissions for these seats will be made in a transparent manner after the CAP Rounds and strictly as per the Inter-Se-Merit of the candidates who have applied to the Competent Authority for verification of documents and then to the Institution.

2. The Institution will invite applications till date of allotment of final CAP Round by notifying schedule of admission and the number of seats in each course to be filled by the institution, by advertisement on the website of the institution.

3. Aspiring candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria as notified by the Government and specified by the appropriate authority, from time to time, shall apply to the institution for admission at the Institution level.

4. In case a candidate is unable to submit the application directly to the institution for any reason, the candidate shall have the opportunity to apply through the website of the State CET Cell till the date of allotment of final CAP Round. These applications will be forwarded to the institution by State CET Cell after the allotment process of CAP Round -- IV. The institution will consider such applications while preparing the inter-se-merit.

5. The Institution after verification of all required documents will prepare and display the Inter-Se-Merit lists of the candidates to be filled in at the Institution level Quota and Supernumerary Quota of OCI or PIO, Foreign National, Children's of Indian workers in Gulf Countries along with the vacant seats after CAP, on the notice board and will publish the same on the website of the Institution.

6. If any CAP seat remains or becomes vacant after the CAP Rounds, then the same will be filled in by the candidate from the same category for which it was earmarked during the CAP. Further if the seats remain vacant then the seats will be filled on the basis of Inter-Se-Merit of the applicants.

7. While filling these seats, the preference will be given to the Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate over All India Candidature Candidate on the basis of Inter Se-Merit.

8. After exhausting the Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate and All India Candidature Candidate, if any seat remain vacant in the sanctioned intake, then these seats may be filled with NRI, Foreign Students (FS), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries (CIWGC) Candidature Candidates.

9. Upon declaration of Admission activity schedule by the State CET Cell, the Admission Activity schedule for Institution level and ACAP Admissions will be published on institute website www.pict.edu .

10. Admission process for these seats will be conducted and completed as per the schedule declared by state CET Cell and subsequent schedule published by the Institute.

11. For updated information/process/schedule regarding admission under institutional level quota and ACAP, the candidates shall visit the institute website www.pict.edu , regularly.

CAP Q.13 What is the procedure for the student’s seeking admission through CAP (MHT-CET & JEE (Main)?

However, all the students seeking admission must register with the State CET Cell, Maharashtra.
DSE Q.14 Do you have Institute Level (Management) Quota for Direct Second Year Engineering admission?
No.
General Q.15 What are the college timings?
The tentative college timings are 9.00 am to 4.30 pm for First Year B. Tech.

Note: The First & Third Saturday of the month is a holiday and the working hours in that week will be extended by one hour (say, 9.00 am to 5.30 pm)
Scholarship Q.16 What is a Tuition Fee Waiver (TFWS) Scheme?
This scheme was launched by the Government of Maharashtra for meritorious students from the state of Maharashtra and having their parent's annual income below Rs. 8.00 Lakh. These seats are (5%) over and above the sanctioned intake and these seats are filled by competent authority. These students get benefit of Tuition fee waiver.
Scholarship Q.17 What is an Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Scheme?
This scheme is launched by the Government of Maharashtra for meritorious students from the state of Maharashtra and having their parent's annual income below Rs. 8.00 Lakh. These seats are (10%) over and above the sanctioned intake and these seats are filled by competent authority. These students get benefit of 50% Tuition fee waiver.
Scholarship Q.18 What is Economically Backward Class (EBC) scholarship?
EBC is also known as Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulk Shishyavrutti Scheme. The applicant should be domicile of Maharashtra with family annual income limited to Rs. 8 Lakh. Only the first two children are eligible under this scheme. This scheme is available for all categories of students. Eligibility Q.19 I have cleared both my 10th and 12th from Maharashtra; However, I am not in possession of a domicile certificate of Maharashtra state, am I eligible for admission?
The candidate is eligible for admission (as Maharashtra State Candidature candidate) if

Candidate who is either Domicile of Maharashtra and/or is born in Maharashtra.

OR

Father or Mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possesses a Domicile Certificate.

OR

Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission of Application Form for CAP.

OR

Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.

OR

Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognized institution located in Maharashtra Karnataka Border area or from Maharashtra, residing in the Maharashtra Karnataka Border area and whose mother tongue is Marathi.

Explanation- The Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area includes the villages declared by the State Government for that purpose.

Eligibility Q.20 I have not given CET and given JEE MAINS and not have domicile, am I eligible for admission?
You are eligible for admission under All India Quota (CAP seats).
Management Quota Q.21 Will the Merit list for IL (Management) quota be displayed on the website?
Yes, as per the schedule it will be displayed on the institute website.
Admission Q.22 What is Spot round?
The vacancies created dynamically (after all CAP and Institute level rounds) will be filled purely based on the merit., among the candidates who have applied and are physically present (SPOT) in the campus.

Fees Q.24 Will the fee be refunded if the admission is cancelled in IL (Management) quota?
